Suvi is a psychologist at OpenUp. She offers you an empathetic, non-judgmental space to share your worries, problems, and thoughts. Together you will explore your issues to gain an overview of them and also to get to their core.
Suvi helps you to recognise, understand, and acknowledge your beliefs, emotions, and fears, which is an important step to gaining a holistic overview of your current life situation. Her goal is to encourage and assist you on your path to mental well-being, self-confidence, and inner strength.
She works with a holistic approach and uses integrative techniques based on cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused counselling and ACT.
To take care of her own mental well-being, Suvi spends time with her loved ones, exercises and tries to eat and sleep well. She also relaxes by going for walks with her dog and listening to good music.
Suvi lived in England for 6 years and earned her Psychology degrees at the University of Sussex in Brighton and the University of Kent in Canterbury. She continued her studies in Finland at Jyväskylä University after which she was granted the right to work as a legalised psychologist in Finland. She has about 20 years of experience working with teenagers and young adults with a wide variety of problems.
Suvi speaks Finnish and English.
