Suvi is a Finnish psychologist and psychotherapist with 15 years of experience in mental health. She graduated from the University of Helsinki in 2007 (Master in Psychology) and from Helsinki Brief Therapy Institute in 2012 (solution-focused psychotherapist).  After that, she has been working with various types of clients both in clinical and preventive healthcare settings (the City of Helsinki, Helsinki University Hospital, Finnish Student Health Service), both in Finnish and English.

Her approach is client-centered and solution-focused. She has also completed clinical training in other therapeutic approaches, especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Particularly, Suvi has extensive experience treating stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and excessive worrying.

Her main goal as a mental health professional is to create a positive, non-judgmental, compassionate, and empowering space for her clients to share and reflect on their experiences. She believes our main “superpower” as psychologists, is our communication. Self-help books, online courses, etc., can be a great help, but it is not the same thing as reflecting and sharing ideas with another person.

Personally, she takes care of her mental well-being by implementing small and simple mindfulness moments in her daily life. She believes the more we are connected to the present moment helps us to prevent worrying about the future and dwelling on the past.

Suvi speaks English and Finish.

"I would be happy to be your compassionate and solution-focused agent of change on your path to even better mental well-being!"
